Office of Global Citizenship
International Education Week (IEW) was created by the US Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2000, and IEW is celebrated annually by universities across the country. The Office of Global Citizenship invites Sewanee faculty, staff, and students to participate in this annual celebration by (1) attending IEW events on campus and by (2) offering suggestions for workshops, performances, forums, or other scholarly or creative works that celebrate international education.
The 2018 schedule for IEW is below. You can also follow all the events on our facebook page.
If you would like to add an event, or if you have suggestions for future events for IEW 2019, email firstname.lastname@example.org. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated in the schedule below.

There are three passport activities: the events at the German House and the Russian House and the International Folktales Night (IFN). On 11/10, go to both activities. Pick up a passport at the first, complete the activity, and get your passport signed. Go to the second activity and have your passport signed again. On Friday 11/16, go to IFN, and have your passport signed there as well. The following week, you can either drop your completed passport off with Sarah Marhevsky in the Office of Global Citizenship, Carnegie 110 (down the hall from the registar and across from the econ offices), or you can SPO it to the Office of Global Citizenship. All passports received by noon Wednesday 11/21 will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate from Amazon!

* IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.
THESE EVENTS ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY THE OFFICE OF GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP, McCLURG AND ITS EMPLOYEES, THE GERMAN HOUSE, THE RUSSIAN HOUSE, THE FRENCH HOUSE, THE WRITING HOUSE, AND THE OCCU. Thank you to all participants and organizers and anyone inadvertently left off the list!
