Art, Architecture, and Politics in Yugoslavia

A panel entitled, "Reflections on the Concrete Utopia: Art, Architecture, and the Politics of Memory in Socialist Yugoslavia" will address art, architecture, and the politics of memory in Socialist-era Yugoslavia (1945-91), as well as its aftermath, and will comment on recent exhibits such as MoMA’s Toward a Concrete Utopia and The Fabrics of Socialism in Sewanee. It takes place in Gailor Auditorium on Tuesday, December 11 at noon.

The German Department's annual celebration to close the Advent semester is a traditional German Christmas service in St. Augustine's chapel ( a side chapel of All Saints) and concludes with wintery treats at the German House. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12 at 6:30pm.

Dr. Glacet's Play Debuts at Princeton

A new play, "Sans Vincent", written by Aymeric Glacet and his colleague, André Benhaim will be debuted as a staged read-through for the first time on Wednesday, December 12 on the campus of Princeton University. The play is about a common Parisian who wakes up one day convinced that he is the reincarnation of Van Gogh complete with all of his talents.
